Meet one of our newest members, Vimratta Mori.

I am an Associate Lecturer at Griffith University, where I teach across Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, and Integrative Medical Sciences, supporting students through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and assessments. Alongside teaching, I am completing my PhD, exploring how antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance data can be translated into actionable information to support antimicrobial stewardship in the community.

My journey into health professional education grew from my career as a medical scientist. Having worked in microbiology and multidisciplinary laboratory settings in both overseas and Australian healthcare environments, I have seen how scientific knowledge connects with clinical practice and, ultimately, patient care. Moving into academia has given me the opportunity to bring these experiences into the classroom and help students understand not only the science behind healthcare, but also how that knowledge is applied in real-world settings.

I particularly enjoy helping students connect theory with practice, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and gain confidence as they prepare for their future professional roles. My PhD journey has also strengthened my interest in translating research and evidence into meaningful improvements in healthcare practice.

I first came across ANZAHPE through LinkedIn and joined because I wanted to connect with a broader community of health professional educators and learn from colleagues across different disciplines. I see ANZAHPE as an opportunity to continue developing as an educator, exchange ideas, explore collaborations, and learn from the diverse experiences of others working in health professional education.

Being part of ANZAHPE is an exciting step in my journey as I continue to grow from a health professional and researcher into an educator and academic.
