Congratulations to Jye Gard on his Associate Fellowship with ANZAHPE.

Jye Gard is a Paediatrician and the Melbourne Paediatric Discipline Lead at the University of Notre Dame Australia, where he works to bridge gaps between clinical practice, teaching and research. Jye first engaged with ANZAHPE as a trainee doctor in 2016, presenting at the Association's conference in Hobart and has since worked in simulation and clinical education across universities, hospitals and doctor training programs.

Jye's scholarly interests centre on optimising workplace-based learning in health professional education, developing novel education tools and dynamic learning environments, and advancing simulation-based interprofessional education. His publications in Medical Teacher, Advances in Simulation, the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health and BMJ Leader journals examined how simulation-based learning translates across different craft groups, the impact of COVID-19 disruptions on junior doctor training and reflective practice frameworks for clinician development. He supervises nurses, doctors and medical students on their own education and clinical research projects, and leads curriculum design, assessment and educational governance across undergraduate and postgraduate doctor training programs.
