ANZAHPE Committee of Management

2026 Call for Nominations

ANZAHPE is calling for nominations from eligible members interested in serving as Directors on the Committee of Management (CoM). ANZAHPE Directors form the CoM  and play an active and visible leadership role in the association. This  includes governance responsibilities associated with Board roles  and leading ANZAHPE's strategic plan.

In 2026, there are four (4)  positions available for election. We are inviting members to submit their nominations for vacancies for a two-year term commencing in June 2026.

Due to the anticipated adoption of a new constitution, transitional provisions will apply to candidates who are successfully elected following this nominations process. By nominating, candidates acknowledge and accept that they may be subject to reduced or extended terms to implement the transition from a 2 year election cycle to a three-year staggered rotation cycle.

Skills and attributes

ANZAHPE values and seeks diversity  and is looking for nominee backgrounds that will complement those of the continuing Directors. In 2026, ANZAHPE particularly encourages nominations from eligible members:

  • Working or residing in Aotearoa New Zealand, Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria or Tasmania.
  • Having a clinical conjoint role or a role focused on health workforce development.
  • Identifying as First Peoples, LGBTQIA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, and/or with living or lived experience of disability.
  • Having affiliation with a rural or regional University, University Department of Rural Health, and/or Regional Training Hub.
  • Being in early or mid-career stage.
  • Relevant governance experience

Commitment

The ANZAHPE Director Position Description and the CoM Information sheet outline expectations and the responsibilities of the role.

An average of 3 hours per week is the expected commitment.
