Presenters: Niki Lillibridge, Louisa Ng and Morgan Rayner
When: Wednesday 3rd June 2026 Time: 12pm - 1pm (AEST)
This session will explore the role of simulation in developing interprofessional skills, with a specific focus on role understanding and communication. In a pilot study, we found that nursing and medical students identified gaps in their own knowledge, assumptions made about other healthcare providers and developed a deeper understanding of role requirements in a team.
About our presenters:
Louisa Ng is a Rehabilitation Physician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. At the University of Melbourne, she is the Deputy Director of Student Education at the RMH Clinical School and final year Subject Coordinator of the MD in the subjects of Clinical Scholar and Transition to Practice. Louisa has a strong interest in preparing students for the transition to clinical practice, including through interprofessional education.
Niki Lillibridge is an intensive care nurse with research interests in interprofessional communication and collaborative practice in health care. She works at the University of Melbourne coordaining the Graduate Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing and assists in the implementation of interprofessional curriculum across the School of Health Sciences.
Morgan Rayner is a GP and medical educator. He has specific interests in digital health and interprofessional work.
We anticipate that you will leave with at least one new idea to explore, and widen your network of colleagues with interests in interprofessional education.
