APBEN focuses on education and training in the broad, and often interdisciplinary field, of bioethics. It emphasises practical application of ethics for healthcare policy and practice. The network is therefore inclusive of health law and professionalism as well as health humanities scholarship. The network welcomes engagement by educators and practitioners in medicine, nursing, optometry, physiotherapy, medical radiation practice, social work, paramedicine, and other health professions, as well as researchers.

The conference will be held virtually and hosted by Deakin University, Australia from 27th-30th May, 2021. The online program will enable participation and engagement by a professionally diverse group of attendees from around the world.
